United States Bitcoin (BTC) Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) have taken the spotlight from Satoshi Nakamoto, the lead holder of BTC. Senior Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas gave this inference earlier on December 6 on X. To put this in perspective, these spot Bitcoin ETFs hold as much as 1.104 million BTC, while Satoshi’s stash is only 1.1 million coins. Bitcoin ETF Products Keep Beating the Odds In Balchunas’ opinion, this milestone is mind-blowing, considering that they were launched on January 11, less than one year ago. Only two days ago, TheCoinRise reported that BTC ETFs were fast closing in on Satoshi regarding Bitcoin holding. At this time, their BTC holding had only climbed to $676 million . Out of all eleven spot BTC ETFs approved by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) has dominated tremendously. The product has outperformed its counterparts with $50 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM). Previously, Balchunas predicted that BlackRock’s IBIT would become the sole biggest holder of Bitcoin come next year. MicroStrategy Holds 402,100 BTC Binance, the US government, and business intelligence software company MicroStrategy are already ranked as the top Bitcoin holders. Michael Saylor-led MicroStrategy recently purchased 15,400 BTC for $1.5 billion. This acquisition took its total Bitcoin holdings to 402,100 BTC, now surging past $40.8 billion. It is worth noting that ascertaining these firms’ and individuals’ exact Bitcoin holdings is usually challenging. According to the prominent blockchain analytics platform Chainalysis, Satoshi owns 1.124 million BTC across 36,000 wallets. If this estimate is correct, the pseudonymous creator of the flagship digital currency may still be the largest holder. Satoshi Nakamoto’s Identity Remains a Mystery On the one hand, there is a low likelihood that Satoshi will ever touch any of those wallets, considering how keen he is on remaining hidden . Speculations are that the Bitcoin creator is dead, even Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz recently argued the same. In October, the HBO documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery tried to reveal the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. Peter Todd, an early Bitcoin developer, was hand-picked by director Cullen Hoback to be Nakamoto . However, he was quick to dismiss the claim. Hence, there is still a mystery about who the real Satoshi Nakamoto is. The post US Bitcoin ETFs Now Hold More Bitcoin Than Satoshi Nakamoto appeared first on TheCoinrise.com .
